Salted Chocolate Brown Butter Crispy Treats

  1. Lightly grease a 9″x 13″x 2″ baking pan.
  2. Place the butter in a large saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the butter melts and begins to foam.
  3. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until brown specks begin to form at the bottom of the pan and the butter has a nutty aroma.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Add the marshmallows, and cook, stirring constantly, until the marshmallows have melted and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat. Add the cereal, and stir until combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan, and spread evenly.
  7. Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave at half power in 30-second increments until the chocolate melts when stirred. Stir until smooth.
  8. Spread the melted chocolate over the bars. Sprinkle with the desired amount of coarse salt.
  9. Allow the chocolate to cool and set before cutting into bars.
